Birzeit University | جامعة بيرزيت in Nablus City in #Palestine; the INNOMED-UP Project partner participated in
the “the Cultural Capital Markets” in Asira Ashamaliya Town- Nablus, Palestine.
As a complement to the activities of the "Cultural Capital Markets" launched by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture in collaboration with several institutions, as part of Bethlehem; the Arab capital of culture 2020, the exhibition "Asira al Baidar w al Zaitoon" was opened on Saturday, 21 August 2021 in the town of Asira, north of Nablus Province, Palestine.
In partnership between the Palestinian Ministry of Culture and the project “Promoting Upcycling in Circular Economy through Innovation and Education for Creative Industries in Mediterranean Cities (INNOMED-UP)”, A number of small and medium-sized enterprises benefiting from the project in Nablus participated in an exhibition "Asira al Baidar w al Zaitoon" to promote handicrafts and internationalism and promote Palestinian culture and identity, with the presence of the Palestinian Minister of Culture, Dr. Atef Saif, Mr. Hamdallah Afaneh, the Director of the Directorate of the Ministry of Culture of the city of Nablus, and a large number of number of media agencies, partner institutions and those interested in
handicrafts, culture, heritage and the civil community as a whole.
The participation of the project was through Dr. Mohammad Jawabreh – the project's communications officer, and Engineer Randah Jardaneh/BZU Team, and the presentation of a number of handcrafts by a group of Nablus city craftsmen that represented by Mr. Ayman Abid Raboo from Environmental Quality Authority - Art of Recycling Solid Environmental Waste, Ms.Amany Abweh- Hand Accessories and Glass Painting Art, Ms. Iman Zaid- Embroideries and Accessories from Dried Roses, and the PRCS/ Asira branch- Handmade works of mosaic and Glass Painting Art.
The Participation of the INNOMED-UP Project team and SMEs from Nablus in this event was as part of the Public Awareness to disseminate the culture of the recycling of the waste in order to promote the Circular Economy in the country.
