Circular Wool Lab, Lottozero presents its INNOMED UP voucher's project

Prato, Lottozero Textile Laboratories launches Circular Wool Lab, a laboratory for the recovery of raw wool from waste, created through the purchase of specific processing equipment, made possible thanks to the funding of the INNOMED UP project vouchers, part of the ENI CBC MED Programme, of which the Municipality of Prato is a partner.

Lottozero, at its space, provides the machinery for artists and craftsmen who wish to create projects that relate art and the themes of recovery and circularity, especially in the textile sector.Guns for tafting, carding machine and spinning machine are some of the equipment present at the Lottozero Laboratory. The difficulty of finding these machines for use on a small scale and not for industrial production gave rise to the idea in the team, from which the winning project was born.

“Our vision for this project is to give new life to a wasted raw material; we are transforming Tuscan rustic wool, coming from meat or dairy sheep, which is not considered interesting in the textile industry into a material for industrial and commercially desirable products, adding value through high impact design, creativity and high quality automated processes"

This project has allowed Lottozero to intensify research and innovation projects on rustic wool material and to improve the experimentation offer aimed at the young creatives of the area.
