The Department of Architecture and Spatial Planning at Birzeit Uni. جامعة بيرزيت, Palestine held an introductory and evaluation workshop "SWOT & PEST" on Sunday 12/7/2020 from 11:00-14:30 via the Zoom platform for SMEs in the city of Nablus participating in the project "Promoting Upcycling in Circular Economy through Innovation and education for creative industries in Mediterranean cities/INNOMED-UP" funded by the European Union and in cooperation with seven academic, research and professional institutions from the European Union, Palestine, Jordan, and Tunisia.
 
During the workshop, Birzeit University team briefed to the 15 SME's attendees on the analysis of the reality of craft industries in the city of Nablus and the results of the field research on SME's.
 
The general and specific objectives of the project were clarified to the participants, as well as the methodology of work followed in Field research and the indicators that came out of the analysis for Field research in the city of Nablus have been explained. Besides, clarifications about the conclusions of the solid waste volume and the need to build capacity and develop recycled products to meet the needs of customers.
 
Also, participants were introduced to the elements of "SWOT & PEST" and how to analyze them by dividing the participants into four working groups and then discussing the results at the end of the workshop.
